1. The on-device principle
Suede Voice performs its singing-voice analysis — including pitch detection, spectral analysis, register classification, range tracking, and recommendation matching — locally on your phone using on-device audio frameworks and classifiers. Microphone audio is never uploaded to any Suede AI server, third-party server, analytics service, advertising service, or cloud service.
The Android app does not request the internet permission and disables Android app backup. The iOS app's App Privacy declaration reflects the same developer-side architecture: "Data Not Collected."
2. What is captured during a session
Microphone audio. During an active range test or practice session, the app records audio from your phone's microphone and processes it locally. Suede Voice keeps local WAV replays by default so you can review individual notes; you can turn off Keep audio recordings or delete all saved recordings from Settings at any time.
Derived measurements. Numeric outputs of the on-device analysis — including range bounds, pitch and stability measurements, register classifications, calibration data, and exercise-completion timestamps — are stored locally in the app's private database so progress and recommendations remain available.
Where they live. The database and replay files live inside the app's private sandbox. Android app backup is disabled for Suede Voice on Android, so its database and replay files are not included in Android cloud backup. Suede Voice on iOS explicitly excludes replay files from iCloud and iTunes backup; its local numeric database may be included in your encrypted iCloud device backup when iCloud Backup is enabled. Suede AI cannot access that backup.
3. What the apps do not collect
- No account is created. There is no signup. There is no login.
- No name, email address, phone number, or contact information is requested or stored.
- No third-party analytics, advertising SDKs, attribution SDKs, or tracking pixels are integrated into the app.
- No social-graph access, no contacts access, no photo-library access, no calendar access.
- No audio is transmitted to any server, including ours.
- No biometric identifiers are derived or stored.
4. Permissions the app requests
Microphone access. Required to perform singing-voice analysis. Android or iOS displays a system prompt before microphone access is granted. You may revoke it at any time in your phone's privacy settings.
Notifications (optional). If you enable practice reminders, the app schedules local notifications on your device. Reminder content is generated locally; it is not sent through a Suede AI push-notification server.
5. Network activity
Suede Voice on Android has no internet permission and cannot make network requests. Suede Voice on iOS does not include a network client or a feature that uploads audio, measurements, or other app data. The app can open external links you deliberately tap — such as this privacy policy, the Terms of Use, or a Suede website — in your phone's browser.
- The linked website receives ordinary web-request information such as IP address, timestamp, and the page requested.
- No singing audio, replay file, calibration data, or session measurement is included in that browser request.
6. Third-party services
Suede Voice does not integrate advertising, attribution, analytics, crash-reporting, or social-tracking SDKs that collect personal data. Exercise content and audio reference tones are bundled or synthesized on-device.
7. Children
The app is intended for general audiences, including young singers. Because the app does not send personal information to Suede AI, there is no Suede-AI-held information about a child to retain, share, or delete. Parents and guardians remain in control of microphone and notification permissions through device settings.
8. Your rights and your data
Because the app does not collect personal information about you, there is generally no Suede-AI-held data to access, correct, port, or delete on your behalf. On Android, Settings lets you delete saved WAV replays and reset calibration data; numeric session history remains local until you clear the app's storage or uninstall it. On iOS, uninstalling the app removes its local database from the device.
If you have questions about your rights under the CCPA/CPRA, GDPR, or another applicable privacy law as it relates to this app, email privacy@suedeai.org.
9. Changes to this policy
If a future version introduces a feature that processes data differently — for example, opt-in cloud sync or a coach-share export — we will update this policy and surface the change inside the app before that feature is enabled.
